Typography tea

This Clipper tea package design fills what could have been negative space with type. Clipper Tea sells organic, fair-trade, classic, and specialty teas. I found these as Marshall's but I bet you can find them at your local grocer. I also hear Clipper sells hot cocoa and coffees, I wonder what that package design looks like?

Sweet tea

Tea inspired by their grandma.

Never too old to be appreciated

One of my most favorite things about my graphic design position is seeing my works out in the world. But print works are mostly disposable, and last only weeks if your lucky. How amazing to find your work, napkins none the less, appreciated 50+ yrs later in a national magazine-Amazing, congrats!

You had me at Cold Brew

Spring is just around the corner and what better way to get excited about warm weather than with cold drinks. This beauty of package design is Grady's Cold Brew New Orleans-Style iced coffee concentrate. It's brewed and bottled by hand in Brooklyn NY and has a label that reflexes in city roots. The typography is stealing the show and the bottle design, which I hope is glass, looks like it is a medicine bottle; it makes me think about when drinks like root beer were considered to having healing qualities. But as for flavor here is the description Grady's has described their process for this delicious brew, "Each batch is made by steeping a special blend of freshly roasted coffee and chicory in water overnight, then removing the grounds using a two-step filtration process. What’s left? A bold, velvety-smooth liquid concentrate that can be mixed with milk or water—served over ice or steaming hot." I know what I will be picking up the next time I'm in Brooklyn. Looks like a conversation starter as well as a fancy cocktail ingredient.

The beauty of Wind power

I had this beautiful photograph saved in my phone that I just had to share after my green design post. I didn't expect to feel such joy and excitement to see wind mills, but this sight was jaw dropping. My husband and I found these on the ride home camping at Letchworth State Park, we had to take a detour route and these were the first few of many wind mills that captivated us. Just 30 minutes south of my house in the middle of nowhere, looked to be a hundred or so wind mills. Go WNY wind power!

Green Design : Cardboard Straws

An interesting utensil found at  Ted's Montana Grill, while visiting Denver, Colorado, was these cardboard straws. An easily disposable straw? I didn't even think about straws not being biodegradable and how truly wasteful plastic straws are to our environment. I mean just think, every time you go to a restaurant you're probably going to use one. As for the green product functionality there is a interesting feel to the lips when you first use one. It does not get cold like a plastic straw and it has a better chance of sticking to wet lips but those are just small sacrifices to upgrading to green design. Earth friendly is always the way to go. I can't wait to find these in the grocery stores and in more restaurants, until then I'm going to make an effort to skip drinking out of straws, what wrong with drinking out from the glass anyway?
